I just got the MMXI DVDs/CDs package yesterday, and I could not really finish listening to all the cds or watching all the entire performance. I am a huge fan of Sandy Lam since the 80s and will continue supporting her. But, I was just hoping for a better setlist and better stage/costume production. Sandy has been putting out concerts for years, and she is a great singer. But, when it comes to dancers' costumes, dance steps, and song arrangements, they might need some help. Anthony has been running out of ideas. Listening to those remixed dance medleys of the similar songs that she has performed in the past concerts is just painful. The arrangements are not fresh. If Sandy is trying to model after Madonna's formula of reinterpreting songs, she needs to step up the game and really produce some new sounds for her old songs. Especially when she hasn't had major hits for years, she depends on singing songs from her old catalog in order to generate ticket sales. I think that her dance numbers definitely need some help.

The dancers' costumes were kinda hard to watch. I tried very hard not to look at the dancers. In the last dance medley, I believe that both male and female dancers were wearing boxer shorts over leggings. I mean, the leggings would have been just fine. Those shiny shorts that looked like boxer shorts were really hard to take.

There were some good moments in the concert. I thought that her rock interpretations of her songs were brave and gutsy. Her interactions with the musicians on stage were much more credible than her dancing. At this point of having been her fan for this long, I'd rather not see her dance if the choreography could not be improved. Her rendition of Danny Chan's song was very touching. Sandy truly missed Danny.

Well, I will continue giving my money to her. She is one of the true superstars left in HK.
